About the Role

We have an exciting 12-month fixed-term opportunity for a passionate Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Business Partner to join our Christchurch team, covering parental leave.

If you love coaching leaders, driving cultural excellence, and making workplaces safer and more sustainable, this role is for you! You’ll provide hands-on HSE support, build capability across our leadership team, and champion a strong safety culture.

This is a part-time role (20 hours per week) with flexibility around days and hours (within normal business hours). Perfect for someone looking for work-life balance while making a big impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate & Inspire: Coach leaders to proactively manage safety and foster inclusive leadership.
  • Champion Compliance: Ensure adherence to HSE legislation, regulations, and standards.
  • Drive Safety Programmes: Implement our Safety for Everyone Everyday programme and support Steps to Zero initiatives.
  • Build Culture: Move our safety culture towards interdependence using the Bradley Curve framework.
  • Manage Risk: Guide teams in risk management and develop robust plans.
  • Audit & Improve: Lead audits and coach leaders to achieve HSE performance goals.
  • Analyse & Report: Monitor and report on incident data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Protect the Environment: Help reduce environmental impact and keep site plans up to date.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualification: A Diploma in Health & Safety (required); additional qualifications in Environmental Management or Training & Assessment are a plus
  • Experience: 3+ years in an HSE role, ideally in a manufacturing or operational environment.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of HSE legislation and best practice.
  • Skills: Analytical, problem-solving, and strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Leadership: Ability to influence, engage, and hold others accountable.
  • Hands-On: Comfortable working alongside operations teams.
  • Change Agent: Skilled at driving positive cultural change.
