We're looking for an experienced HSE Business Partner to join our New Zealand HSE team based at Wiri and partner closely with our operations. This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact by influencing leaders, strengthening safety culture, and driving continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing environment.
About the role
Reporting to the HSE Manager NZ, you will be a trusted advisor to site leaders, providing expert health, safety and environmental guidance while coaching teams to build capability, reduce risk and improve performance.
You'll play a critical role in embedding best practice HSE systems, fostering a proactive safety culture, and ensuring compliance with New Zealand legislation and company standards.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with operational leaders to enhance safety leadership and accountability.
- Coach and support teams to implement HSE programmes and risk reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with incident investigations and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented.
- Drive continuous improvement through audits, self-assessments and action planning.
- Deliver and facilitate HSE training programmes across the site.
- Monitor and analyse injury, incident and safety performance data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Support injury management and return-to-work programmes.
- Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, standards, policies and procedures.
- Contribute to environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
- Promote and embed Tip Top's safety culture.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A Diploma or equivalent qualification in Health, Safety & Environment (or related field)- NEBOSH, or relevant degree also welcomed
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a Health, Safety and Environment role.
- Strong working knowledge of New Zealand HSE legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Experience within manufacturing, food production, FMCG or a similarly complex operational environment.
- Proven ability to coach and influence leaders at all levels.
- Strong investigation, risk management and auditing experience.
- Excellent facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A collaborative, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
