HSE Business Partner
At MAURI, we are looking for an experienced HS&E Business Partner who is passionate about influencing leaders, building capability, and driving a proactive safety culture across our Auckland operations. About the Role:
Reporting to the HSE Manager NZ, you will partner with the Auckland Site and Functional Leaders to strengthen our safety culture, improve risk management practices, and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
This is a hands-on role where you'll spend time building relationships, coaching leaders, supporting operational teams, and driving initiatives that make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach and support leaders to strengthen safety leadership and accountability
- Drive behavioural safety initiatives and embed a proactive safety culture
- Provide practical HSE advice focused on risk reduction and continuous improvement
- Lead site audits, investigations, hazard management and compliance activities
- Support injury prevention, rehabilitation and return-to-work programmes
- Facilitate HSE training, inductions and capability-building initiatives
- Monitor HSE performance and analyse trends to identify opportunities for improvement
- Manage contractor safety requirements, permit-to-work processes and capital project HSE oversight
- Support environmental reporting and governance requirements
About You:
To be successful, you will bring:
- A relevant Health & Safety qualification (Certificate, Diploma or equivalent)
- At least 5 years' experience in a Health, Safety and Environment role
- Experience within manufacturing, food production, logistics, industrial or other operational environments
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation and risk management principles
- Proven ability to influence, coach and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Experience driving behavioural and cultural change initiatives
- Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building capabilities
- Environmental management experience will be advantageous
