Inventory Controller - Silverdale

About Us

Tip Top Bakeries NZ, part of the George Weston Foods (GWF) group, is seeking a detail-focused and proactive Inventory Controller to support inventory accuracy and system integrity at our Silverdale site. This hands-on role works closely with production and warehouse teams to manage stock movements, investigate variances, support stock takes, and ensure ERP data is accurate and reliable.

What makes us different? We’re one of the few FMCG manufacturers in New Zealand that owns the full process; from raw materials through to finished product and delivery. That means this role has real visibility on the factory floor and a direct impact on operational performance, product availability, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

As an Inventory Controller, you’ll play a key role in ensuring inventory accuracy and system integrity across our manufacturing operation. Working closely with production and key stakeholders, you’ll help keep stock levels accurate, variances under control, and systems running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strict adherence to inventory accuracy targets and KPIs, including manufacturing variances
  • Ensuring system jobs (Butchery to Boxing) are closed in a timely manner, with all variances investigated within agreed timeframes
  • Checking daily replenishment requests against the ERP system to maintain accurate stock levels
  • Planning your own daily production floor activities and delegating tasks where required
  • Providing training, guidance, and direction to production floor personnel
  • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure accurate and consistent use of the ERP system
  • Training others on ERP processes, with a specific focus on variance management
  • Assisting with daily ERP reconciliations and participating in stock takes
  • Preparing and presenting weekly variance and issues reports, and supporting monthly reporting
  • Advising on BOM changes within the ERP system
  • Maintaining general stock room housekeeping standards
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of SOPs

About You

You’re detail-focused, organised, and comfortable working in a production or manufacturing environment. You enjoy being close to the operation, can manage competing priorities, and aren’t afraid to get hands-on when needed. You’re confident working with systems and enjoy helping others build capability.

You’ll Be a Great Match If…

  • You have experience working with ERP systems, ideally in manufacturing or FMCG
  • You’re confident investigating variances and working to clear targets and KPIs
  • You can plan your day effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • You communicate clearly and enjoy training or supporting others on the floor
  • You take pride in accuracy, process, and continuous improvement

Why Apply

This is a great opportunity to be part of a collaborative operations team where your work directly impacts production performance and stock integrity.
