About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our Harewood Bakery in Christchurch.  You will be responsible for leading the Harewood maintenance/engineering team (5 direct reports) to deliver world class maintenance and reliability that is underpinned by our value of SAFE (we create a safe place to work; we care about each other; safety has an equal voice; our food is safe)

Your key areas of responsibility will involve:

  • Improving reliability and operational performance to drive efficiencies
  • Guiding and supporting team members to develop their skills and advance their careers
  • Facilitating maintenance planning processes
  • Delivery of long-term initiatives (capital projects)
  • Contractor management and permit to work compliance
  • Building and maintaining a strong team environment with a high-performance culture

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • a passion for people safety and food safety
  • ability to demonstrate daily a commitment to reduce & eliminate ‘Threat To Life’ Risks across our Harewood Bakery
  • previous experience within an FMCG environment
  • Mechanical engineering qualifications including plc knowledge / programming
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in leading, managing and developing high performing teams
  • Enjoys working in collaboration to achieve common goals
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Knowledge of HACCP policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles
  • Strong understanding of predictive and preventative maintenance systems
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing processes to improve plant performance
