Merchandising Coordinator - North Island

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Merchandising Coordinator - North Island within the Tip Top Grocery team. 

This is a pivotal coordination role supporting our field sales leadership and merchandising teams across the North Island. Success in this position comes from strong administration, organisation, communication and process management skills. 

You will coordinate merchandising operations, support recruitment and onboarding activities, manage rostering requirements, maintain key processes, facilitate team communications, and ensure merchandisers have the tools and support they need to succeed. 

This role will be 5 days a week, with working days of Sunday through Thursday, ensuring a point of escalation during weekend days. This role will be predominantly office-based (with flexibility), with a pool car available to support any in-store support requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, induction and ongoing training of merchandisers. 
  • Manage merchandising rosters, payroll administration and leave coverage. 
  • Act as the key point of contact for merchandising teams, predominantly across your region while also providing national support as required. 
  • Support communication of business priorities and field team requirements. 
  • Assist merchandisers with systems, reporting and technical support. 
  • Establish, maintain and continuously improve administrative processes and ways of working. 
  • Work closely with Regional Sales Managers and Area Managers to support team effectiveness and operational efficiency. 
  • Champion health, safety and compliance initiatives across your region. 
  • Build strong relationships with merchandisers and key business stakeholders. 

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll be a highly organized and detail-oriented coordinator who enjoys creating structure, managing processes and keeping things running smoothly. 

  • Previous experience in administrative or coordination roles, for example customer service, PA/EA, office support, or similar positions. 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 
  • Excellent administrative skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Strong computer skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and business systems. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the business. 
  • A process-driven approach and the confidence to establish, improve and maintain efficient ways of working. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative. 
  • A proactive mindset and a focus on continuous improvement. 
  • FMCG, retail or field team experience is desirable but not essential.
