At George Weston Foods – Baking Division NZ our purpose is “Everyday Moments of Goodness.” Our iconic Kiwi brands such as Tip Top Bread, Golden Bakery, Ploughman’s Bakery, Burgen, Big Ben Pies and Dad’s Pies are part of everyday Kiwi lives, delighting our customers and consumers.

We have a number of 6-month fixed term roles till the end of August 2025 and one permanent production baker role. We are looking for individuals who are flexible, motivated, and have initiative to work within our Tip Top Bun & Roll and Pies teams when the individual departments have gaps created by people on leave or training.

6-month Fixed-Term Roles

Due to the nature of these roles, there will be a requirement to be flexible around shift start and finish times (up to 2 hours either side of the shift timings) to cover any short-term or long-term gaps created by people on leave, training, or other business needs. The shift times that we are recruiting for are:

• Monday to Friday from 5.15pm to 1.45am
  
• Saturday to Wednesday from 12.30pm to 10.00pm
• Wednesday to Sunday from 12.30pm to 10.00pm

Permanent Baker Role

• Friday to Tuesday from 10.00pm to 7.30am
  

In order to be able to work across all our departments, you MUST meet the below requirements to be considered:

• Be able to frequently lift 25 kg throughout your shift
• Lift overhead height
• Comfortable working in a hot environment
• There is a health and safety requirement to wear a full respirator mask for the full shift due to the flour dust – for an effective seal you will need to be clean shaven.
• Minimum 1-2 years baking or manufacturing experience is required

Please note we operate 7 days per week across the site, and there may be opportunities for overtime. We are only closed on Christmas Day and Easter Friday – all other public holidays are worked as a normal day.
