About the role
As the Production Manager, you will lead a team of 5 Supervisors and drive performance excellence across our Wiri operations. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team, including Warehouse & Distribution, Maintenance, FSQ, Hygiene, HSE and P&P.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Continuous Improvement: Design and implement the site’s continuous improvement program with guidance from the Business Improvement Manager to achieve incremental gains in service levels, food safety, quality, and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Production Planning: Maintain optimized and efficient production planning processes to support continuous improvement and daily operations management.
- Leadership Development: Enhance the site’s frontline leadership capabilities through effective people management.
- Capital Projects: Develop, oversee, and implement the site’s capital projects plan.
- New Product Development: Ensure the execution of new product development on-site, continually improving product quality and GMP standards.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience (10+ years) in leading teams and managing others effectively within a manufacturing/FMCG environment.
- Strong process control experience within a manufacturing setting.
- Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Ability to mobilize people through effective communication, participation, and teamwork encouragement.
- Self-motivated with high performance standards for yourself and your team.
- Strong internal and external customer orientation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
