About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join our Bun & Roll Wrapping team at our Wiri Bakery. This is a full-time, permanent position, working Thursday to Monday, 12.30pm–10.00pm.

In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll be responsible for leading the team to deliver safe, high-quality products while ensuring our people safety, food safety and production standards are consistently met.

You’ll play an important role in building the capability and knowledge of your team, reinforcing the required checks and processes, and ensuring products are ready to be handed over to the Despatch team with confidence.

Key accountabilities of this position include:

• Lead, support and develop team members, including coordinating on-the-job training through our buddy system.
• Ensure the team understands and follows the required technical processes, escalating issues when needed.
• Ensure products are produced and packed to the required quality and specification.
• Champion Health & Safety, ensuring requirements and procedures are consistently followed.
• Maintain high Food Safety standards and address any issues as they arise.
• Provide regular feedback, coaching and performance management to support team performance and development.
• Lead shift Food Safety Quality checks, along with weekly Safety Walks.
• Build team capability, accountability and knowledge to support consistent performance and reinforce our commitment to being the “Most Trusted Brand.”

About You:

• Brings energy, enthusiasm and a positive approach to leadership.
• Has previous leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment, with FMCG experience is preferred.
• Demonstrates strong leadership skills and enjoys developing others.
• Is confident training and coaching people on the job.
• Has strong time-management skills and can effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Communicates clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing.
• Is physically able to work on their feet and undertake the lifting requirements of the role, including lifting up to 25kg.
• Is passionate about producing safe, superior-quality food for New Zealand communities.

Please note that we operate 7 days per week across the site, and there may be opportunities for overtime. We are only closed on Christmas Day and Easter Friday; all other public holidays are worked as normal days.
