Territory Manager - Out of Home (OOH) | South Island

We are seeking a passionate and commercially focused Territory Manager - OOH to join our Out of Home (Foodservice) team. Reporting to the Out Of Home Sales Manager, this role is responsible for driving profitable sales growth across the South Island by managing existing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering best-in-class customer solutions. This is a varied and exciting role, where no 2 days are ever the same.

 

About the Role

As a Territory Manager, you'll be on the front line of growth, opening doors, winning new business, and building lasting customer relationships across the Out of Home, Route and Foodservice channels. With a strong hunter mindset, you'll uncover opportunities, grow market presence, and turn prospects into long-term partnerships that drive sustainable business success.

The role is focused on the South Island – so be prepared to travel

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive profitable growth by identifying, targeting, and converting new business opportunities across the Route, Foodservice, and alternative channel sectors.
  • Be the face of our business on all Trade Shows, promoting our brands, connecting with new and existing customers and networking with suppliers.
  • Expand GWF's market presence through proactive prospecting, networking, lead generation, and customer acquisition activities.
  • Grow existing customer accounts by increasing distribution, optimising product mix, and executing promotional activity that delivers commercial results.
  • Develop and execute territory and customer growth plans aligned with business objectives and market opportunities.
  • Present and promote the GWF product portfolio to prospective and existing customers, securing new listings and expanding category penetration.
  • Build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, creating long-term partnerships that support sustained business growth.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of market activity, competitor movements, industry trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Deliver accurate sales reporting, forecasting, pipeline management, and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of customer initiatives and timely resolution of customer enquiries.
  • Champion health, safety, and compliance in all aspects of the role.

 

About You

You're a driven, commercially savvy sales professional who loves the thrill of the hunt and knows how to turn a new prospect into a long-term customer. You thrive on opening doors, building meaningful relationships, and uncovering opportunities that deliver real business growth. Resilient, proactive, and results-focused, you're equally comfortable prospecting for new business as you are nurturing key customer partnerships.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Proven success in a sales, business development, or account management role, with a strong track record of delivering growth.
  • Experience within the Foodservice, Route, FMCG, Hospitality, or Out of Home sectors (preferred).
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to quickly establish trust, credibility, and lasting customer partnerships.
  • Confidence and persistence in prospecting, cold calling, networking, and converting new business opportunities into profitable customers.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage decision-makers at all levels.
  • A commercial mindset with a solid understanding of margins, profitability, and the key drivers of business performance.
  • The ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and make sound decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • A highly motivated, resilient, and self-driven approach, with a passion for achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong territory management skills, balancing new business acquisition with the development of existing customer relationships.
  • The ability to work autonomously, follow a structured call cycle, take ownership of results, and contribute positively to a high-performing team culture.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, or a related field (desirable).
